Feeding Therapy

Pediatric feeding therapy is a play-based, low pressure, and goal-oriented service offered by Primrose Pediatric Therapy. Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists at PPT use strategies from various platforms and programs including Feed The Peds, Talk Tools, and SOS to provide feeding therapy services to children with various diagnoses who struggle with eating, drinking, and/or swallowing due to medical, sensory, or behavioral challenges.

Feeding sessions are completed one-on-one with the child and caregiver (when possible and apprpriate). Each session is tailored to fit your child's needs and address the challenges they face.

  • Build oral motor skills for safe and efficient chewing and swallowing

  • Address sensory aversions to food textures, tastes, or smells

  • Improve mealtime behaviors and routines

  • Support transition to age-appropriate diets, utensils, and feeding methods

  • Collaborate with families to create personalized home strategies
